Note:
Granite is a virtually maintenance free material that requires little to no precautions. Oil or grease left to seep into the stone is granite's biggest foe, and this is only if the granite is un-sealed (all granite that leaves our fabrication will be sealed with a top-quality sealer) or if the oil or grease is left to seep into the stone and dry overnight or for an extended period of time. If your sealed granite does darken because of oil or grease, a poultice can be made to draw the stain back out (see oil-based stains below under types of stains).
